A New Podcast for Parents and Advocates on the Autism Journey

I’m thrilled to introduce you to my new podcast, The Lighter Side of the Spectrum, where we take a heartfelt, honest, and even humorous look at parenting, advocacy, and life on the autism spectrum. This podcast isn’t just another voice in the world of autism. It’s a space to laugh, reflect, and learn from shared experiences, all while exploring strategies to make our communities more inclusive and supportive.

As a parent of an autistic teenager who was non-speaking until nearly 17, I know the profound highs and lows of this journey. I’ve seen firsthand how small moments of progress can lead to life-changing breakthroughs. I want to share those stories to give others hope and inspiration. My goal is for this podcast to feel like a lifeline to parents, caregivers, educators, and anyone passionate about inclusion and communication.

Our first episode launches with a special guest who is very close to the podcast’s heartbeat: my producer, David Yas. David is not only a podcast pro, he is also the father of a 26-year-old son on the autism spectrum. His journey and insights set the stage for the type of honest conversations we’ll have here.

And as a special treat, in Episode 2, I am joined by my own son, Stone. He will share his unique perspective and the incredible breakthroughs he’s experienced over the past two years.

New episodes will be out every Tuesday. Each one blends personal stories, expert insights, and practical tips, along with a few special episodes here and there. We won’t shy away from the tougher topics, but we’ll keep the conversations grounded and thoughtful. Our aim is to capture both the challenges and the rewards of parenting on the spectrum.

Catch The Lighter Side of the Spectrum on your favorite streaming platform. Listen in, and let’s create a space for honest conversations in the autism community.
